WSC Participated in the article below:
Jon Johnson, sales manager for Carlsen and Associates
David Peritore, General Manager of WSC,
Bruce Edwards, vice president of operations for Scott Laboratories,
Harvey Gonzalez of Euro-Machines.
The article re-enforced the importance of inspecting and maintaining production equipment after harvest.
Article Bullet Points:
- Desiccant bags in control boxes
- Inspect press bladders for even tiny holes.
- Don't over lubricate your bearings or the bearing seals will fail
- Cleaning must pumps properly.... is a rare occurrence.
- Cover pump ports to keep rodents and insects out.
- NEMA-4 water proof control boxes are not moisture-proof.
While ongoing professional maintenance is the route recommended by the round table group, on-site training can also be arranged through Carlsen & Associates, Scott Labs and Winery Service Connection.
WSC Testimonial from Freestone Vineyards.
Our experience with Winery Services Connection has been entirely positive and professional. We enrolled our crush equipment for service in spring 2014 and have not regretted it. Dave and Weber have consistently provided us with thorough and timely service on technical issues both big and small.
Our crush equipment had seen only sporadic service over the last 5+ years, so WSC’s first act was to perform a thorough inspection of our enrolled machines and provide us with a report detailing any weaknesses or concerns with each machine. Once we had decided on the work we wanted done prior to harvest, WSC was able to source new belts and casters for us and get everything installed before our first grapes came in. Once harvest was underway, they continued to be very responsive to our questions and concerns. The inspection process means that they are aware of possible complications and able to prepare for them, which I think is quite practical and efficient.
I deal with a lot of service providers and find that quick and clear communication is not always easy to achieve. WSC has proven to be precise, responsive, and accountable, and we look forward to doing business with them for the foreseeable future.

WSC is a no brainer for wineries that lack a full time maintenance technician. They are knowledgeable in many areas including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic applications.
WSC preventative maintenance reports are organized and comprehensive allowing clients to make responsible repair/rebuild choices.
WSC works closely with clients to provide realistic response time and service during harvest hours.

Winery Service Connection has made my job as a consulting Winemaker a lot easier - facingseveral different process flow equipment sets over several clients, I could count on Winery Service Connection to keep the wine flowing under any conditions (including some of the toughest I've seen in 25years of wine growing!).
